Applying to Pacific Point Academy

We invite you to become a part of our perfectly different learning community. The admissions process at Pacific Point Academy promotes the mindful placement of students with unique learning differences. We design an individualized program for each student to diminish the difference between ability and achievement.

Pacific Point Academy’s full day program is designed for students with mild to moderate learning differences. Our students have a wide range of intellectual abilities and related learning differences (dyslexia, dysgraphia, attentional difficulty, executive functioning and processing difficulty). Students who have been unsuccessful in a traditional classroom find Pacific Point Academy to be a place where they can grow and once again enjoy learning.

Pacific Point Academy has a rolling admissions process. There is no application deadline. We admit students as space becomes available and once an applicant has been determined to be a good fit for the program.

  • Step 1

The admissions process at Pacific Point Academy begins with a scheduled tour. To schedule a tour, call  the academy at 310-314-3333.

  • Step 2

Following your scheduled tour, complete an application and submit any supporting documentation, such as education evaluations, an IEP, a neuropsychological report, psychoeducational evaluations, medical information, and records. Complete and return three (3) communications releases.

  • Step 3

Once your application and supporting documentation is received, our team will review your child’s records. We may ask to visit your child in the context of his or her current school setting. If it is determined that the full day program at Pacific Point Academy would be appropriate and beneficial for your child, we will invite them to spend two to three days with us. During your child’s visit, special care is taken to create a welcoming atmosphere.

  • Step 4

If your child is admitted to Pacific Point Academy, a school official will contact you to schedule a meeting. During this meeting our collaborative team will discuss your child’s individualized plan and begin the process of enrollment.

  • Non-Discrimination Policy

Pacific Point Academy welcomes students of any race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. Pacific Point Academy does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, employment policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic or other school-administered programs.

The goal of the Pacific Point Academy admissions process is to find the best match between applicants and our unique Pacific Point Academy learning environment: a small group of students, a carefully designed individualized educational plan, and a team of qualified specialists.

We invite you to become part of our visionary education community.
